[Risk No. 281] While I stood waiting for Robert to process my groceries, I asked God how He created Robert and how He viewed him. I felt two words in my spirit: compassionate and driven. I shared how I am making a habit of asking God how He sees people and shared these two words. Robert seemed grateful that I would share. I encouraged him and he was receptive. Short and sweet, sometimes that is all the Lord will have us say/do. It’s OK.
Thank you for your diligent risk taking Chad! You and Come & Live are a blessing in my life and a daily encouragement for me, God bless you all to continue strong in faith.
Thought I’d share a quick “risk” that blew me away the other day. I was on my way to work and my VW Beetle starts seizing up and engine light starts flashing. Very worried and anxious about getting to work on time and how much money this repair would cost, I quickly called my father and he came to see what the problem was. He determined it was not an engine problem directly and that I could probably make it into work if I drove it a little harder than I usually do to avoid the engine stopping from whatever complication was hindering it. Still very anxious as I feel something is very wrong with the car, I take off and thank my dad for checking it out for me. The car immediately starts seizing up again with engine lights and all, and God suddenly challenged me with the question, “Why haven’t you asked me to fix it for you?”
Startled by the question I felt very strange as I immediately felt led to lay hands on my dashboard over the engine and inner workings of the car and command “healing” over my vehicle. The car stopped shaking, engine light stopped flashing, and I had no problems getting to work and back as if there was nothing wrong with the vehicle in the first place!
My “risk” was to simply ask my Father in Heaven as a child of God in faith to provide for me and give me peace, and He did just that! The reminder that God cares for my trivial day to day activities continues to grow my faith tremendously and solidifies what I already know: God’s word is living and active and true! Praise Jesus for being Lord of everything (including mechanical issues! :D), nothing is too small to not ask, and nothing is too big for God to fix!
