[Risk No. 556] I realized how spoiled I am to have Barista Parlor downstairs from our office when I visit a Starbucks. Not that I don’t or can’t appreciate Starbucks for what it is, especially when I’m traveling and it’s my only viable option! Anyway, I’m tangent-ing. Sorry. Welcome to being me.
I met a friend at Starbucks for coffee and James was at the register. I asked him where he was from. “Seattle.” Oh, cool, I moved here from Seattle, too. He was floored. He asked why I moved. There’s no way for me to tell this story without just making it all about Jesus. So might as well run through the open door. I shared how I had felt Jesus calling my family and I here to this city and that I wasn’t entirely sure why, but that He has since revealed His plans and has me working in full-time ministry. His eyes lit wide as he shared how his family had experienced a similar call from God to move here. It still shocks me how often I meet people with this story here in Nashville. Weird!
Held hands and prayed over James’ life and his family. Blessed him and encouraged him. So cool the variety and backgrounds of people God has allowed me to meet through this risk taking. Family everywhere!
